Nnamdi John Okonkwo is the Chief Executive Officer/ Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Nigeria , a position he was appointed to January 2, 2014, from his former role as the Executive Director of South Directorate at Fidelity Bank Nigeria.[1] He also was the Executive Director of Commercial and Consumer Banking South Directorate.Before joining the bank, he occupied the Chief operating officer position in the United Bank for Africa subsidiary in Ghana.[2] Nnamdi J. Okonkwo has a wealth of experience which spans over 25 years in the banking industry covering various sections including corporate finance, corporate banking, commercial and consumer banking.

Education

Nnamdi holds a B.Sc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Benin and also MBA, Banking and Finance from Enugu State University of Science and Technology Nigeria. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) of INSEAD, the business school of the world France.[3] He has also attended various other senior-level programs at other renowned institutions.

Career

Nnamdi Okonkwo is the CEO/ Managing Director Fidelity Bank Nigeria, a position he has held since January 2, 2014.[4] Before then he was an Executive Director of the South directorate Fidelity Bank from the year 2012 to 2014. Between year 2009 and 2012 he remained as the Divisional head corporate bank Fidelity Bank Plc. Before moving to Fidelity Bank Plc, Nnamdi was CEO, West African Monetary Zone, United Bank for Africa Plc between the periods of 2008 till 2009. Nnamdi Okonkwo was also a Managing Director United Bank for Africa Plc for the period of 2006 till 2008.[5] Nnamdi J. Okonkwo has also worked with Standard Trust South Africa and Guaranty Trust Bank in his over 25years illustrious banking career.
