Nitte Education Trust
Nitte University is located at Derlakatte,Mangalore,India. It is formed under the Trust of Nitte University, a Trust sponsored by Nitte Education Trust[1] which has established 31 institutions spread in 3 campuses at Nitte, Mangalore and Bangalore.
The Government of India had conferred the status of Deemed-to-be University[2] in June 2008.[3]
The institution has been accredited with 'A' grade by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC)
The A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences (established in 1985) was the first constituent college of Nitte University.
Today, it has a total of five constituent colleges, the other four being K.S. Hegde Medical Academy (established in 1999), N.G.S.M. Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (established in 1983), Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences (established in 1992) and Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy (established in 1997).
Established in 1999, K.S. Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) became a constituent Nitte University in 2009. KSHEMA has been proactive in developing and adopting teaching-learning activities that provide its students with the best opportunities for training. Initiatives like a Mentorship program, Skill Laboratory, integrated learning, e-learning resources and objective assessment practices are the highlights of the academic programs offered by the institution. The Institution takes pride in its dedicated faculty and support staff who strive to create a conducive environment for the students to grow into competent professionals.

A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences ESTABLISHED IN 1985, A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences IS ONE OF THE PREMIER DENTAL INSTITUTIONS OF INDIA.The college has established 15 rural health centers in south and south western part of Karnataka. The college is well equipped with required infra structure, faculty and clinical materials for the comprehensive management of all Diseases of Oral cavity, and maxillo-facial region. The college makes use of modern Teaching and Learning resources, incorporates holistic education TO the students to not only BECOME A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL BUT ALSO be a good human being with social commitment. Courses offered: BDS(5years),MDS (3years)and PhD in Dentistry.
