Nicola Girasoli

Nicola Girasoli (July 21, 1957) is a prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as apostolic nuncio to Zambia and Malawi from 2006 until 2011, when he became nuncio to the Antilles.

Life

Born in Ruvo di Puglia, Girasoli was ordained to the priesthood on June 15, 1980.

On January 24, 2006, he was appointed nuncio to Zambia and Malawi, and titular archbishop of Egnazia Appula. Girasoli received his episcopal consecration on the following March 11 from Angelo Cardinal Sodano, cardinal secretary of state and cardinal-bishop of Ostia, with secretary of the congregation for the evangelization of peoples, archbishop Robert Sarah, and bishop of Molfetta-Ruvo-Giovinazzo-Terlizzi, Luigi Martella, serving as co-consecrators.

On October 29, 2011, he was appointed apostolic delegate to the Antilles, and nuncio to Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Dominica, Jamaica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Guyana. On December 21, 2011, he also became nuncio to Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados.
