Events and Organizations
New Ulm High School's annual events include Homecoming Week, which always includes the "Battle of the Classes." Tradition has it that the Seniors always win this event, but in 2012 the Juniors won for the first time ever. Student Council works to put on many of these events. Some more events include school-wide Turkey Bingo in November, three school dances throughout the year, Spring Fling in March, and an end of the year event, such as an Outdoor Dance or an Outdoor Movie. The school also holds a prom in the spring.
Some of the student organizations include: Speech, Math Counts, Knowledge Bowl, Junior High Knowledge Bowl, Robotics, One Act, SPOTS, Student Council, FFA, FCCLA, Payne Street Singers, Jazz Band, Choir, Band, Pops Choir, Mock Trial, and Yearbook.
The FFA sponsors an American Redcross Blood Drive twice a year.
Knowledge Bowl has gone to state meet in 2007, 2012, 2015, and 2016.

NUHS Today
Due to budget cuts for school funding from the state in 2007, the New Ulm Middle School had to shut down and shared space with the New Ulm High School until 2016.[1] A new high school was built after a referendum was passed in 2014 and it opened in the fall of 2016. The other district buildings were remodeled and the old high school became the middle school. The original 1915 high school building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
