Protests

On February 27, 2006, 82 students in New Rockford skipped school. This protest occurred because eight or nine teachers were in danger of losing their jobs. 50 students stood in the cold for the entire day. Students were not punished or counted absent, because it was a learning experience.[1][2] Michael Zimmerman, a protesting student, was hit a car but escaped uninjured. The students protested again on March 6, 2006.
