Nellore railway station is a railway station of the city of Nellore in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is situated on Vijayawada-Gudur section, under the administered of Vijayawada railway division of South Central Railway zone.[2][3]
History
The Vijayawada-Chennai link was established in 1899.[4]
The Chirala-Elavur section was electrified in 1980–81.[5]
Income and classification
Nellore railway station is an A–category station. It is recognized as a Model station, Adarsh station and Touch & Feel (Modern Stations) in the Vijayawada railway division.[6][7]
