Nahar Singh Jasol

Thakur Nahar Singh Jasol (नाहर सिंह जसोल)(born 12 October 1936) is an Indian author of Hindi, English and Rajasthan language works on subjects such as folk tales, history, and rajasthani literature. He is also a translator of Gujarati books to Rajasthani and Hindi.

Career

Jasol completed his Matric from Chopasani School in Jodhpur in 1953, and received his Bachelor of Arts from SMK College in Jodhpur in 1959. He was appointed as Naib-Tehsildar Pachpadra in 1960 however, he left the position to work in agriculture from 1960 to 1980. In 1980 Jasol became Assistant Director of Mehrangarh Fort. He was elevated to the post of Director of Mehrangarh Fort[1] and worked in the same position from 1982 to 1999. During this period he also served as the Sarpanch of Jasol from 1980 to 1990. He was elected as Pradhan of Panchayat Samiti, Balotra in 1995 as an independent candidate and served as the Chief Administrator of the City Palace in Udaipur[1] from 1999 to 2003.
