This is a Matsya Avatar of Lord Vishnu first Avatar, who saved the four vedas from Somakudu and returned to Brahma. Temple brahmostavam comes on Shukla Dwadasi, Trayodasi and Chaturdasi of Phalguni masam (Telugu calendar).
