Nachandupatti is a small town located 16 kilometres from Pudukkottai. The village got its name because it provided good quality Saanthu (Nalla+Saanthu+Patti). The village has several buildings which are between 100 & 200 years old and which were built by Nattukottai Nagarathar Chettiars There are many small villages around nachandupattti like pudur,kottur,etc. Famous celebrities who hail from this place, include Thambi Ramaiah (Director), Pandiraj (Director). There is a ICICI Bank and Union Bank located at the main road of the village. Each house of the village has a peculiar nickname like 'Kaattu Meeni Aayal Veedu',"Suban Chettiar Veedu". There is a temple which is 200 years old called 'Karrupar Kovil' located at one side corner of the village.
Adaikammai Appathal Padaipu --> Padaipu function is celebrated once in 2 years in the tamil month of adi 3rd friday at adaikammai appathal padaipu veedu located in natchandhupatti. Members of ilupakudi kovil from 36 villages assemble together during this function. 2nd friday of adi the function starts in thuvar kovil with paal pongal. On the day of function people will prepare pongal and paniyaram. Food will be presented to God. Auction will be conducted on 3rd saturday adi. The 'Paal Panai' or 'Vinayaga Panai' will be auctioned first. The person who gets the paal panai will be considered royal in the village circle. On the immediate next week friday ilampadaipu will be conducted in thuvar kovil.
