Multiplex Cinemas are a chain of multiplex cinemas based in Ukraine.
Origins
The first cinema in the chain was the City Centre Cinema in Mykolaiv, which was established in 2006. Cinemas in other cities and towns were then added to the newly formed Multiplex Group over the next few years.
Scandals
In 2008, on the territory of Ukraine began to operate a law obliging all Ukrainian cinemas completely dubb films into Ukrainian. Multiplex began to organize the protests, demanding to allow the dubbing of films in Russian too.[1]
In 2010, after the abolition of the law, founder of Multiplex Anton Puhach often expressed his dissatisfaction on this issue.[2]
