Mopatop's Shop

Mopatop's Shop is a British children's television series that which premiered on CITV in the UK on 1 May 1999. 260 ten-minute episodes were made and aired daily. It was a co-production between Jim Henson Productions and Carlton Television.

Production

The show was produced and written by Jocelyn Stevenson (who started working with the Muppets as a lead writer on Fraggle Rock). Stevenson explained, "The aim of Mopatop's Shop is to teach young children to embrace language and communication skills in a form where they can expand the boundaries of their imagination. It promotes goodness and wellbeing."

Plot

The show features a large green muppet named Mopatop and his red duck-dog-like assistant Puppyduck. Together they run Mopatop's Shop, a shop where you can buy anything you could ever think or dream of. Another main character is Moosey Mouse, a young mouse who lives in the loft above the shop with Father Mouse, Mother Mouse and Meesey Mouse. There's also local deliveryman Lamont the Sloth, neighbor Claudia Bird, and a rabbit named Odd-Job Gerald.

Each episode features background puppets from The Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, Little Muppet Monsters, A Muppet Family Christmas, The Jim Henson Hour, Dog City, Jim Henson's Animal Show, Secret Life of Toys, Muppets Tonight, and other projects having been recycled as various customers and suggestions to Mopatop's Shop.

Characters

Main characters

• Mopatop (performed by Mak Wilson in Seasons 1 and 2, William Todd-Jones in Seasons 3 and 4) - The main character of the series. He is a large fuzzy green creature who runs Mopatop's Shop as its shopkeeper.
• Puppyduck (performed by Victoria Willing) - Mopatop's assistant. She is a cross between a duck and a dog. Puppyduck also has a fondness for Strawberry Jam.
• Mouse Family - A family of mice that live in the attic of Mopatop's shop.
  • Moosey Mouse (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Member of the Mouse Family. Since Mopatop and Puppyduck don't notice him, he tends to do whatever he wants. He is a recycled version of the mouse puppet used in The Muppet Christmas Carol which was later used for Stanley the Mouse in Jim Henson's Animal Show.

  • Great Uncle Mousiemillian - Moosey Mouse's great uncle.
• Claudia Bird (performed by Susan Beattie) - Claudia Bird is a friendly neighbor of Mopatop. She is a recycled version of Winny from The Muppet Show.
• Lamont (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - A sloth who is a deliveryman. He is a recycled version of the Lamont the Sloth puppet from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Odd-Job Gerald (performed by Brian Herring) - A rabbit who does odd jobs for Mopatop.
• Bunny - A rabbit who would appear in the introduction of most of the episode where Mopatop would suggest various items to the viewer.
• Lettuce (performed by Susan Beattie) - A lettuce appeared in the backgrounds of Mopatop's shop singing. She is a recycled version of the lettuce member of the Singing Food from The Muppet Show.
• Grace The Delphinium (performed by Alison McGowan) - A cheerful flower that resides in Mopatop's Shop. She is a recycled version of one of the flowers from The Muppet Show.
• Professor Fingle Fangle Fargle (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Professor Fingle Fangle Fargle is an inventor who has contributed some of his inventions to Mopatop's Shop.

Customers

• Abel and Mabel (performed by Brian Herring and Susan Beattie) - Abel and Mabel are two creatures that appeared behind a little door in "Thingamajig." Abel is a recycled version of Droop from The Muppet Show while Mabel is a recycled version of Philo from Fraggle Rock.
• Alan (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Alan came to Mopatop's Shop in "Penguins" to buy proper equipment when penguins rain on him. He is recycled from Droop of The Muppet Show.
• Ali Doolally - Ali Doolally is a magician who came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode in order to get his wand to stop drooping.
• Andre the Chef - Andre the Chef came into Mopatop's Shop in "Magic Cakes" where he gives Mopatop some cakes that taste however anyone wants it to taste.
• Andy the Armadillo - Andy the Armadillo came into Mopatop's Shop in "Feathers" where he wanted to dress up as a bird. He is a recycled version of Dooley the Armadillo from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• The Animal Choir - An animal choir appeared in their self-titled episode where Mopatop offers them to the viewers and sells it to Carol Croon. They are recycled version of a sheep, a chicken, and a penguin from The Muppet Show, Morton the Beaver and Sandy the Giant Otter from Jim Henson's Animal Show, and a rabbit from The Tale of the Bunny Picnic.
• Backstreet Bunnies - The Backstreet Bunnies are a bunch of rabbit pop stars who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mopatop of the Pops" looking for musical inspiration. They are Puppyduck's favorite band and a parody of the Backstreet Boys.
• Bee (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - A bee appeared in "Cock-A-Doodle-Bee." He came into Mopatop's Shop looking for a new cool and funky buzz. He wanted a cock-a-doodle-do buzz. He is a recycled version of Barry the Honeybee from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Becka Bicker (performed by Susan Beattie) - A blue monster that came into Mopatop's Shop in "Midip" to trade her imaginary fish friend Fishy for another imaginary friend. She ends up obtaining Midip.
• Benny Bumpety - Benny Bumpity came into Mopatop's Shop in "Jumpety Bumpety" where he wanted to swap skills with Jenny Jumpety.
• Bernice the Bear (performed by Susan Beattie) - Bernice the Bear came into Mopatop's Shop in "Big Game" where she was looking for somewhere to hide from Bob the Big Hunter. She is a recycled version of Bunnie Bear from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Betty (performed by Susan Beattie) - Betty comes into Mopatop's shop in "Cock-A-Doodle Bee." She is a recycled version of one of the flowers of The Muppet Show.
• Betty the Big Hairy Beast (performed by Susan Beattie) - Betty the Big Hairy Beast comes into Mopatop's Shop in "The Bigulator" wanting to change her size.
• Big Cheese - Big Cheese came into Mopatop's Shop in "Smell That Cheese" in order to look for a really, really, bad smell.
• Billy the Bull (performed by Nigel Plaskitt in the first appearance, Brian Herring in the second appearance) - Billy the Bull comes into Mopatop's Shop in "Horns" where he sent a puzzle "How can a bull play a tune on a bicycle" to Mopatop. In "Bath Buddy," Billy came to Mopatop's Shop to look for dirt when he mom sent him to get a bathtub as Billy hates taking baths. This proves to be a problem when he meets Boris the Bath Buddy who manages to convince him into joining him in a bath. His design is similar to a bull seen in The Muppet Show, but his eyes, hair, and horns are different.
• Bob the Big Hunter (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Bob the Big Hunter is a dog that came into Mopatop's Shop in "Big Game" having trailed Bernice the Bear to the shop. He is a recycled version of Lyle the Dog from The Muppet Show.
• Bonnie the Bunny (performed by Susan Beattie) - Bonnie is a rabbit who came into Mopatop's Shop to buy herself a party in "Surprise Party."
• Boop (performed by Susan Beattie) - Boop is a bouncing ball with a moustache, hair, and no eyes. He came into Mopatop's Shop in "Gluey Glop" as one of the items offered to people.
• Boris the Bath Buddy (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Boris the Bath Buddy is a koala who came into Mopatop's Shop to look for a bath buddy. He ends up finding one in Billy the Bull. He is a recycled version of Flora the Koala from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Bossy Boots (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Bossy Boots comes into the shop in episode "The Do-What-I-Say" expecting everyone to dance, because he said it. However they don't follow his command, so he wants a Do-What-I-Say and Mopatop finds one for him. He is a recycled version of an unnamed background cave creature from Fraggle Rock.
• Box (performed by Brian Herring) - This box appeared in "Surprise Party" where it states that it contains a surprise within it.
• Bradley the Cheetah (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Bradley the Cheetah appears in "Singa Songa." He came into Mopatop's Shop to look for a song to give to his friend Lazlo the Lion. He gained help from Mopatop and Puppyduck in order to make a lion song. This was heard by Lazlo the Lion who appreciated the song. Bradley and Lazlo then left to go chase gazelles. He is a recycled version of Swifty the Cheetah from Jim Henson's Animal Show.

• Brian (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Brian came into Mopatop's Shop in "Hair! Hair! Everywhere!" to have something done about his messy hair. He is a recycled and wigged version of Murray the Minstrel from Fraggle Rock.
• Bruno Butterfingers - He came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode where he ends up knocking over a honey jar and ends up in a sticky situation.
• Bouncing Pengolinos - The Bouncing Pengolinos are a group of performing penguins who came into Mopatop's Shop in their self-titled episode in order to regain their bounce. In "Goodbye," the Bouncing Pengolinos came into Mopatop's Shop to help give Larry Dinger a big goodbye for the final episode of "The Hello & Goodbye Show." They are recycled from Muppet Show penguins.
• Bug (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - This bug came into Mopatop's Shop in "Hug a Bug" where it was sad.
• Busy Fizzie (performed by Brian Herring) - Busy Fizzie came into Mopatop's Shop in "Go Slow" where he gave some busy items to Mopatop. He is recycled from one of the forest creatures seen in the "Kokomo" music video.
• Captain Woof (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Captain Woof is an Old English Sheepdog who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Ship Ahoy" looking for adventure. His puppet was previously used for Dermot in "Flea Power."
• Carol Croon (performed by Susan Beattie) - Carol Croon is a pelican who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Animal Choir" to purchase an Animal Choir. She is a recycled version of Paul the Pelican from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Charlene the Chicken (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Charlene the Chicken came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Flying Chicken" wanting an item that will enable her to fly. She is recycled from one of The Muppet Show chickens.
• Chattering Charlie - Chattering Charlie is talkative character who came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode.
• Cheery Log (performed by Susan Beattie) - A log who is very friendly. He was delivered to Mopatop's Shop by Lamont in "The Brave Canary." She is a recycled version of a log from Episode 2822 of Sesame Street.
• Chester Cheetah -
• Cinderfella (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Cinderfella came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode to look for a new suit when his wicked stepbrothers have hidden the only suit he owns. He is a recycled version of the Emerald Green Frackle from The Muppet Show.
• Clicksnizz (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Clicksnizz is a moon creature who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Moon Dreams" after he lost his favorite dream about stars. Due to Clicksnizz speaking moon creature language, Mopatop had to interpret his language to Puppyduck. He is a recycled version of Begoony from Fraggle Rock.
• Corky Stalky (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Corky Stalky is a scarecrow who came into Mopatop's Shop in "How Scary Is That" to look for a way to scare Scary Mary the Canary.
• Crispy the Clown - Crispy the Clown came into Mopatop's Shop in "Rosy Nosey" to look for a silly hat, ruff collar and a big red nose.
• Daphne Dreamer (performed by Susan Beattie) - Daphne Dreamer came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mattresses" looking for an empty mattress because hers is full of sleep, but all of them are full as well. Her design is very similar to one of the Whozits of The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, but her eyes are different and she has a blond curly wig and wears blue pajamas.
• Dave the Dog (performed by Brian Herring) - He appeared in the episode "The Brave Canary" as one of the items that Mopatop offers to the viewers. He does ask Mopatop for the big juicy bone that he had offered to the viewers. Dave then thanked Mopatop by saying he is the best Mopatop in the world. His puppet appeared occasionally in this TV series.
• Dave the Dragon - Dave the Dragon came into Mopatop's Shop in "A Knight to Fight" where he wanted to purchase a knight so that he can fight it.
• Dave the Dustbin - Dave the Dustbin came into Mopatop's Shop in "Smells" in order to look for a new smell.
• Delmar the Dragon (performed by Brian Herring) - Delmar the Dragon came into Mopatop's Shop in "Dragon Breath" in order to search for some fire to breathe. He is a recycled version Earl the Dragon from the "Puppetman" pilot.
• Dermot (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Dermot is an Old English Sheepdog who came into Mopatop's Shop to look for a good scratch in "Flea Power." In "Fast Fun," he came to the shop again to tell Mopatop that he has slow feet.
• Do Wah Be Do - The Do Wah Be Do is featured in its self-titled episode. When Mopatop and Puppyduck want to hear it sing, it isn't in a good mood.
• Dora the Dinner Lady - Dora the Dinner Lady is a disco diva who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Dora the Disco Queen" in order to obtain a disco.
• Doreen Warthog (performed by Susan Beattie) - Doreen the Warthog came into Mopatop's Shop in "Fine the Way You Are" where she wanted to be in a photograph. She is a recycled version of the warthog puppet that was used for Bernice the Warthog and Warren the Warthog from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Dotty Monster (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Dotty Monster came into Mopatop's Shop in "Warm Snow" where she came to Mopatop's Shot to purchase warm snow. She is a recycled version of Murray the Minstrel from Fraggle Rock.
• Dozy Dieter (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Dozy Deter is an owl who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mattresses" to vacuum up all the sleep from mattresses so that Daphne Dreamer can sleep on one. He is a recycled version of the owl puppet that was used for Hillary the Owl and Timothy the Owl seen in Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Dozy Doe - Dozy Doe came into Mopatop's Shop in "Hullabaloo" in order to get a good sleep despite the problems with the noisy elephants and thunderstorms.
• Dr. Zuckermonster - Dr. Zuckermonster came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode to look for patients.
• Dream Collector (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - The Dream Collector is a dragon who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Dream the Dream" to look for new dreams. He is a recycled version Earl the Dragon from the "Puppetman" pilot.
• Dusty the Dustman - Dusty the Dustman came into Mopatop's Shop in "Load of Old Rubbish" to swap all his rubbish for the contents of the shop's bin. This ends up leaving behind many useful things, including an old sock and even something to stop Baby Mouse crying.
• Ed (performed by Brian Herring) - Ed came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Happy Flapper" when he wanted to obtain a Happy Flapper to use in his song. He is a recycled version of one of the aliens from The Muppet Show.
• Emerson the Dog - Emerson the Dog came into Mopatop's Shop in "Thinking Cap" to look for a thinking cap.
• Fairy Frogmother (performed by Susan Beattie) - Fairy Frogmother is a frog that came into Mopatop's Shop in "Cinderfella" in order to help Mopatop obtain a new suit for Cinderfella. She is a recycled version of a generic frog from The Muppet Show.
• Fast Furry Five - The Fast Furry Five is a girl band came into Mopatop's Shop in their self-titled episode where their fifth member is missing.
• Fat Belly - Fat Belly came into Mopatop's Shop in "Colour Me Mopatop" where the sad songs he plays on his guitar ends up turning everything blue.
• Fierce Monster (performed by Brian Herring) - A Fierce Monster came into Mopatop's Shop in "Ghosts" to get something that will make him laugh. He is a recycled version of the Luncheon Counter Monster from The Muppet Show.
• Flash Harry (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Flash Harry is a photographer that once took pictures of Mopatop's Shop in "Fine the Way You Are." He is a recycled version of Mudwell the Mudbunny from Fraggle Rock.
• Flatcap Frankie (performed by Brian Herring) - Flatcap Frankie is a monster who appeared in "Flatcap Frankie's Shop" where he wants to buy a shop, but the only shop who Mopatop offers is his own shop. He is recycled from Flower-Eating Monster of The Muppet Show.
• Flower (performed by Susan Beattie) - This flower came into Mopatop's Shop in "Moosey's Dream" to find a way to complete her dream after a bunch of dandelions woke her up. Mopatop and Puppyduck subject the flower to the Dream On Dream Finishing Machine where it was shown that the flower was about to be picked by a princess to put in her hair. After the dream, the flower thanked Mopatop and Puppyduck for helping to finish her dream. This flower was originally used in the Julie Andrews special, One Step Into Spring (where the Muppets had guest-starred).
• The Four Birds - These birds appeared in "Three Sale". In the episode, one bird entered the shop asking for a windowsill, but since it's a three sale, Mopatop offers him all three windowsills, so later on he brings a friend of his, but that make two. Moments later, he brings more of his friends to buy three windowsills, but that makes all four. Finally, all three birds re-enter the shop for three windowsills. All four birds were originally used in the opening song "Take A Chance On Me" in the Shields & Yarnell episode of The Muppet Show, but three of whom have Dr. Seuss eyes seen in The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss.
• Francis the Fly (voiced by Brian Herring) - Francis the Fly appeared in the episode The Fly where it used its buzzing to communicate with Mopatop and Puppyduck.
• Fred Forget-It (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Fred Forget-It is an amnesiac parrot who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mischievous Monkey" carrying a large banana, but couldn't remember what he came for. Mickey the Monkey (who was passing himself off as Mopatop at the time) tricked him into trading in his large banana. He re-entered the shop when Mopatop returned having lost his large banana. Barry the Spider made Mickey give Fred Forget-It his large banana back as Mickey left with Fred Forget-It. He is a recycled version of one of the background parrots from The Muppet Show.
• Friendly Coconut (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - A coconut that appeared in "Something Special" willing to be anyone's friend. He is a recycled version of one of the coconuts of The Muppet Show.
• Fuzzlegump - The Fuzzlegump is a two-headed creature who came into Mopatop's Shop in its self-titled episode to prove that two heads are better than one.
• Galloping Gordon (performed by Brian Herring) - Galloping Gordon is a gnu who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Fast Fun." He is a recycled version of the Gnu puppet that has been used on The Muppet Show, Jim Henson's Animal Show, and Muppets Tonight.
• Gari Baldi (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Gari Baldi came to Mopatop's Shop in "Spaghetti Tree" to cover is bald head with hair.
• Gary the Canary (performed by Brian Herring) - He and his owner Trevor came into Mopatop's Shop in "Nodding Off" where Trevor wanted something to keep Gary from keeping him up at night.
• Ghost (performed by Brian Herring) - A ghost came into Mopatop's Shop in "Ghosts" to look for a "boo." He is a recycled version of one of the ghosts from The Muppet Show.
• Ginorman (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Ginorman is a gardener who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mac and the Lollystalk" looking for seeds. He is a recycled version of Icky No-No from Muppet Time.
• Gloop (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Gloop came into Mopatop's Shop in "Flowers" looking for a talking flower that say something important to a special friend. Gloop is a recycled version of Murray the Minstrel from Fraggle Rock.
• Gobbledegook - He came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode to look for a tea time treat for Nibbly Nora.
• Goodbyes - The Goodbyes appeared in "Goodbye" as items that Larry Dinger is looking for to close out "The Hello & Goodbye Show." They are recycled versions of The Frackles, Lenny the Lizard, and Droop from "The Muppet Show," and Beastie, Begoony, and Murray the Minstrel from Fraggle Rock.
• Granny Knit Wit (performed by Susan Beattie) - Granny Knit Wit is the fasted knitter. She came into Mopatop's Shop in her self-titled episode to look for a ball of yarn. She uses the ball of yarn to make a scarf for Mopatop, a nose-warmer for Puppyduck, and a multi-colored coat for Joseph the Penguin.
• Granny Rose (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Granny Rose appeared in the episode "Nothing" when she came into Mopatop's Shop to look for nothing. Granny Rose is a recycled version of Begoony from Fraggle Rock.
• Green Monster (performed by Brian Herring) - The Green Monster appeared at Mopatop's Shop in "You Are What You Are" where he wanted to be pink and swapped colors with a Pink Monster. Both of them weren't pleased so they were given spots of the colors they wanted. The Green Monster is a recycled version of Blustering Bellowpane Monster from Fraggle Rock.
• Grumblegrouch - The Grumblegrouch came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode to look for a new grumble.
• Guy #1 - This guy is a koala who was in the introduction to the episode "Ghosts." He is a recycled version of Flora the Koala from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Guy #2 - This guy is a lizard who was in the introduction to the episode "Whispers." He is a recycled version of Lenny the Lizard from The Muppet Show.
• Hank the Horse - Hank the Horse came into Mopatop's Shop in "I Want to Be A Unicorn" where he wanted to become a unicorn.
• Happy Flappers - The Happy Flappers are a singing group. One of the members (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Happy Flapper" to look for something to complete the band's song. He is a recycled version of one of the members of "Nicky Napoleon and His Emperor Penguins" from Little Muppet Monsters.
• Harry Hidey and Suzie Seekie - Harry Hidey and Suzie Seekie are good hide-and-seek players. Harry Hidey came into Mopatop's Shop in "Hidey Seekies" to hide. When Harry Hidey proves himself to be a good hider, Mopatop and Puppyduck get help from Suzie Seekie to find him.
• Helpful Hilma - Helpful Hilma came into Mopatop's Shop in "Helping Hands" to find stuff for her rock garden.
• Hester the Hare - Hester is a hare who came into Mopatop's Shop in "A Rhyme of My Own" where she wanted to be in a rhyme.
• Hi (performed by Victoria Willing) - A dragon that is seen in the episode "Goodbye" as one of the items that Mopatop offers to the viewers. She is a recycled version of Cinders the Dragon from the "Puppetman" pilot.
• Holly Happyhog - Holly Happyhog is a happy pig who came into Mopatop's Shop in her self-titled episode in order to learn how to cry.
• Horace Hollar - He came into Mopatop's Shop in "Hullabaloo" where he helped Mopatop and Puppyduck see that Dozy Doe can get a good sleep.
• Hottybotty Hen - Hottybotty Hen is seen in "Teething Trouble" where she lays an egg in the introduction. She is a recycled version of one of the chickens from The Muppet Show.
• Humphrey the Hobgoblin (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Humphrey the Hobgoblin came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Toadstool's Always Fresher" where he wanted to give up his scary life and start a new career as a friendly garden gnome. He is a recycled version of the Apple Green Frackle from The Muppet Show.
• Inspector Harry - Inspector Harry is an absent-minded inspector who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Under Arrest" where he suspects that Puppyduck stole his missing helmet and truncheon.
• Isabella the Plant - She came into Mopatop's Shop in "Bad Leaf Day" in order to get her leaves rearranged for a big plant show.
• Ivor Bignose - Ivor Bignose came into Mopatop's Shop in "What's in a Name" in order to search for a new name.
• Jenny Jumpety - Jenny Jumpety came into Mopatop's Shop in "Jumpety Bumpety" where she wanted to swap skills with Benny Bumpety.
• Jiggity Jig (performed by Susan Beattie) - Jiggity Jig came into Mopatop's Shop in "No Job Too Small." He is a recycled version of one of the Fazoobs from The Muppet Show.
• Joseph the Penguin (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Joseph is a penguin who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Granny Knit Wit where he wanted something to deal with his cold. Granny Knit Wit uses her talents to make him a multi-colored coat. He is recycled from a Muppet Show penguin.
• Katy Cactus - Katy is a cactus who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Cuddle a Cactus" where she wanted to cuddle with someone despite the fact that she is a cactus.
• Kevin Canary (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Kevin is the oldest of Mrs. Canary's chicks. He came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Brave Canary" to look for bravery for his first song. He is a recycled version of a generic canary seen in The Muppet Show.
• Kevin Koala (performed by Brian Herring) - Kevin Koala came into Mopatop's Shop in "You Are What You Are" where he was looking for a present for his mother. He is a recycled version of Flora the Koala from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Larry Dinger (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Larry Dinger appeared in "Goodbye". He hosted the last episode of "The Hello & Goodbye Show", but he doesn't have a big goodbye to end it, so he needs a goodbye big enough at Mopatop's Shop to save the day. When none of the Goodbyes are good enough, Mopatop and Puppyduck receive help from Lamont the Sloth, Odd-Job Gerald, the Translator, Roley Moley, Mr. Fisher, Meesey Mouse, Singalotti, the Bouncing Pengolinos, and others. Everyone was enough to help Larry Dinger pull off the biggest goodbye as he takes them to do the goodbye on "The Hello & Goodbye Show." He was recycled from a blue Whatnot Muppet (the same pattern used for the Announcer on the Gene Kelly episode of The Muppet Show, the Time Caster on the third episode of The Jim Henson Hour, among others).
• Larry the Dog (performed by Brian Herring) - Larry the Dog is an old dog who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Old Dog, New Tricks" in order to learn some new tricks. He is recycled from Lyle the Dog of The Muppet Show.
• Lazlo the Lion (performed by Brian Herring) - Lazlo the Lion appeared in "Singa Songa." He is a friend of Bradley the Cheetah. He came into Mopatop's Shop when he heard Bradley's song which was dedicated to him and appreciated it. Though Lazlo did wonder who pulled off the lion roars. Bradley and Lazlo then leave to go chase gazelles. In "Moosey's Dream," Lazlo the Lion came into Mopatop's Shop looking for something to complete his dream which was disrupted when a herd of zebras woke him up. Mopatop and Puppyduck subject him to the Dream-On Dream Finishing Machine where the dream shows that a lioness has found Lazlo attractive. He is a recycled version of the lion puppet used for Chuck the Lion and Malcolm the Lion from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Lickety Spit (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Lickety Spit came into Mopatop's Shop in "Teething Trouble" where he wanted new teeth. He is a recycled version of one of the Fazoobs from The Muppet Show.
• Little Miss Kissy Kiss (performed by Louise Gold) - Little Miss Kissy Kiss is an ostrich who came into Mopatop's Shop in her self-titled episode looking for someone to kiss. When Lamont ends up kissing her, she ends up falling asleep causing Mopatop and Puppyduck to find the right character to give Little Miss Kissy Kiss a kiss that would wake her up. She is a recycled version of the ostrich puppet used for Lydia the Ostrich from Jim Henson's Animal Show and Ms. Henrietta Vanderpreen from Bear in the Big Blue House.
• Lydon the Lion (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Lydon the Lion came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Perfect Tail" to find a new tail. He is a recycled version of the lion puppet used for Chuck the Lion and Malcolm the Lion from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Mac the Giant - Mac the Giant came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mac and the Lollystalk" to look for giant beans.
• Magic Teeny (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Magic Teeny is a small genie who appeared in the episode "The Magic Teeny" when Puppyduck accidentally dusted off his lamp. Magic Teeny is a recycled version of Philo from Fraggle Rock.
• Mama Moo-Cha-Cha (performed by Susan Beattie) - Mama Moo-Cha-Cha is a female pig who came to Mopatop's Shop in "Spaghetti Tree".
• Mamoon (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mamoon is an aye-aye who loves the nightlife and came into Mopatop's Shop in "Oh, What a Night" so that Mopatop can make it night for her. She is a recycled version of the aye-aye puppet used for Billy Bob the Lemur and Mel the Lemur from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Manny and Minnie (performed by Brian Herring and Susan Beattie) - Two rabbit siblings who came into Mopatop's Shop in "A Secret" in order to find a place to keep Minnie's secret.
• Mansell Monkey (performed by Brian Herring) - He came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Big Bicycle Race" to find a way to win a bicycle race. He is a recycled version of Quongo the Gorilla from The Muppet Show.
• Marcie the Tooth Fairy - Marcie came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mr. Philling's Teeth in order to deal with the problems of the magic teeth that Mr. Philling brought into the shop."
• Marsha Mouldylocks (performed by Louise Gold) - Marsha Mouldylocks is a lion actress who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mouldylocks and the Three Pears" to look for stuff for her play. She is a recycled version of the lion puppet used for Chuck the Lion and Malcolm the Lion on Jim Henson's Animal Show, but with a green woman wig.
• Marvin Mudmaker (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - He came into Mopatop's Shop in the episode "Mud" where he wanted to buy some mud. He is a recycled version of Tug Monster from Little Muppet Monsters.
• Mary the Gorilla (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mary is a gorilla who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Hairy Princess" where she wanted to be a princess. She is a recycled version of the gorilla puppet used for Lenny the Gorilla and Gilda the Gorilla from Jim Henson's Animal Show.

• Mickey the Monkey (performed by Brian Herring) - Mickey the Monkey came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mischievous Monkey" where he sends Mopatop and Puppyduck on a wild goose chase to find a clock that doesn't tell time. He then proceeds to pass himself as Mopatop and sends Fred Forget-It away while taking his banana. Barry the Spider (who was playing poker with Moosey Mouse's parents) learned from Moosey about what just happened and was able to set him straight as Mickey leaves with Fred Forget-It and his Banana. He is a recycled version of Hector the Spider Monkey from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Midip (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - An imaginary friend who came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode to look for a friend. Midip ends up making friends with Becka Bicker. He is a recycled version of an Inkspot from Fraggle Rock.
• Mighty Mongoose (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mighty Mongoose is a mongoose superhero who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Gluey Gloop" to replace her old cape.
• Miss Corner (performed by Susan Beattie) - Miss Corner is a gorilla who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Nowhere for a Square" where Puppyduck accidentally ordered her circles instead of squares. She is a recycled version of Quongo the Gorilla from The Muppet Show.
• Miss Leaf (performed by Susan Beattie) - Miss Leaf is a mole who came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Seed" looking for a plant only to learn that Mr. Seed had already bought the last one. They ended up planting the seed which turned into a plant, but Miss Leaf wanted another seed anyway. She is a recycled version of Magda the Mole from Muppets Tonight.
• Mmmrrr (performed by Alison McGowan) - She came to Mopatop's Shop in the episode "Whoop Mmmrrr Zingading" where she and Whoop want to buy a Zingading. She is a recycled version of a Blue Frackle from The Muppet Show.
• Mo Momo (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mo Momo came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mouse Count" to look for three more toy mice to add to his toy mouse collection. He is a recycled version of Icky No-No from Muppet Time.
• Monty the Gorilla (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Monty is a gorilla who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Monty's Fuzzy Wuzz" where he wanted to replace his outgrown fuzzy wuzz. He is a recycled version of the gorilla puppet used for Lenny the Gorilla and Gilda the Gorilla from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Mr. Curly Twirly (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mr. Curly Twirly was a customer in the episode "Wind." Before he can say what he was looking for, the wind that Puppyduck accidentally unleashed blows his hat off his head. Puppyduck helps him catch and he decides that he will come back after they have captured the wind. He is a recycled version of an unnamed purple monster from The Muppet Christmas Carol (where he was paired with the Beggar on Crutch) and Muppet Treasure Island (where he appeared as a pirate) as well as seen on the cover of "Kermit Learns How Computers Work" (with Brool the Minstrel and Kermit the Frog) and in The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss episode "There's Nothing To Fear In Here" as the Fiff-A-Ma-Toze.
• Mr. Dillo (performed by Brian Herring) - Mr. Dillo is an armadillo who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Something Special." He is a recycled version of Dooley the Armadillo from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Mr. Easy Peasy (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mr. Easy Peasy came into Mopatop's Shop in "Easy Peasy" looking for something hard to do. His puppet is a recycled version of an unnamed monster (later named Pokey on the "Muppet Takeover" episode of The Today Show) that appeared in the Prince episode of Muppets Tonight during the "Tales from the Vet" segment.
• Mr. Fish (performed by Brian Herring) - Mr. Fish came into Mopatop's Shop in "Smells" because he was supposed to order a fishy smell but he mistakenly got a flower smell. Mopatop and Puppyduck had to use a special machine to exchange his smell with Mrs. Flower's smell. He is a recycled version of a generic fish puppet that was used in The Jim Henson Hour, Muppets Tonight, and The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss.
• Mr. Eeoh - Mr. Eeoh came into Mopatop's Shop in "A Ah Ee" when his Singatone appears broken.
• Mr. Fisher (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mr. Fisher is a fisherman who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Fishing" to get supplies for his fishing trip. In "Flower the Leader," Mr. Fisher came to Mopatop's Shop when his Follow the Leader Flowers give him some trouble. In "Goodbye," Mr. Fisher came into Mopatop's Shop to help give Larry Dinger a big goodbye for the final episode of "The Hello & Goodbye Show." He is a recycled version of Icky No-No from Muppet Time.
• Mr. Grizzle (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mr. Grizzle came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mr. Grizzle's Laugh" where he was looking for a good laugh. He is a recycled version of a Gray Frackle from The Muppet Show.
• Mr. Holiday (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - He came into Mopatop's Shop in "No Sea" complaining that a mountain was in a do-it-yourself beach kit. He was able to trade it with Ms. Trekker who had the opposite problem. His puppet is a recycled version of an unnamed monster (later named Pokey on the "Muppet Takeover" episode of The Today Show) that appeared in the Prince episode of Muppets Tonight during the "Tales from the Vet" segment.

• Mr. Puniverse (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mr. Puniverse came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode where he helps Mopatop move a mountain in a box and gets carried way tidying the shop. He was recycled from a pink Whatnot from Muppets Tonight.
• Mr. Seed (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - He was a customer in the episode "The Seed." Mr. Seed is a recycled version of Murray the Minstrel from Fraggle Rock.
• Mr. Warble (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mr. Warble is a turkey who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Animal Choir" to look for an animal choir, but the last animal choir was given to Carol Croon. So Mopatop and Puppyduck end up helping Mr. Warble find a different choir for him. He is a recycled version of the Christmas Turkey from A Muppet Family Christmas.
• Mr. Warthog (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mr. Warthog came into Mopatop's Shop in the episode "Flowers" to buy some flowers that say "Thank You, Mom." Mr. Warthog is a recycled version of the warthog puppet that was used for Bernice the Warthog and Warren the Warthog in Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Mr. Whisper (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Mr. Whisper came into Mopatop's Shop in "Whispers" where he was looking for a voice. Mr. Whisper is a recycled version of a Gray Frackle from The Muppet Show.
• Mr. Wolf (performed by Brian Herring) - Mr. Wolf came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Whizzy" where he had ordered a Whizzy. He is a recycled version of Johnny the Wolf from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Mrs. Carey-Sharey (performed by Susan Beattie) - Mrs. Carey-Sharey is a porcupine that came into Mopatop's Shop in "Rude Dude" where she gave him some Fuzzlies. She was recycled from a porcupine from Billy Bunny's Animal Songs and The Muppet Christmas Carol.
• Mrs. Chicken (performed by Brian Herring) - Mrs. Chicken came into Mopatop's Shop in "Flowers" to return a flower that says "Thank You Mom." She is recycled from one of the chickens of The Muppet Show.
• Mrs. Crochety - Mrs. Crochety came into Mopatop's Shop in "Silly Things" where her clock won't tell time.
• Mrs. Crocodile (performed by Brian Herring) - Mrs. Crocodile came into Mopatop's Shop in the episode "Mud" where she was looking for a swamp. She is a recycled version of the crocodile puppet used for Sly the Crocodile and Frankie the Crocodile from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Mrs. Dragon - Mrs. Dragon is a scatterbrained dragon who came into Mopatop's Shop in "What's in an Egg" where an egg with a fire picture on it is suspected to be one of her eggs.
• Mrs. Flibbertigibbet (performed by Susan Beattie) - Mrs. Flibbertigibbet is an English Springer Spaniel that came into Mopatop's Shop in "Bright Ideas" where she was looking for an idea. She is a recycled version of Terri Springer from Dog City.
• Mrs. Flower (performed by Susan Beattie) - Mrs. Flower is a lilac that came into Mopatop's Shop in "Smells" because she was supposed to order a flower smell but she mistakenly got a fishy smell. Mopatop and Puppyduck had to use a special machine to exchange her smell with Mr. Fish's smell. She is a recycled version of one of the flowers on The Muppet Show.
• Mrs. Fox (performed by Susan Beattie) - Mrs. Fox came into Mopatop's Shop in "Hop for the Shop" when she heard a hopping sound. She is a recycled version of Virginia the Red Fox from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Mrs. Hyena - Mrs. Hyena came into Mopatop's Shop in "Lots of Laughs" in search of a new laugh. She is a recycled version of Lazlo the Hyena from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Mrs. Loopy - Mrs. Loopy came into Mopatop's Shop in "Mouse Count" where she needs two more circles.
• Mrs. Tiger (performed by Susan Beattie) - Mrs. Tiger came into Mopatop's Shop in "Something Special" where she was looking for a special gift for her daughter Tammy. She is a recycled version of Butch the Tiger from The Muppet Show.
• Mrs. Warthog (performed by Susan Beattie) - Mrs. Warthog came into Mopatop's Shop in "Ants" where she was looking for a birthday cake for her son Wendell. Mrs. Warthog is recycled version of the warthog puppet that was used for Bernice the Warthog and Warren the Warthog in Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Ms. Trekker (performed by Susan Beattie) - Ms. Trekker came into Mopatop's shop in "No Sea" complaining that a mountain was in a do-it-yourself mountain kit. She was able to trade it with Mr. Holiday who had the opposite problem. Ms. Trekker is a recycled version of Murray the Minstrel from Fraggle Rock.
• Musician (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - The Musician came into Mopatop's Shop in "Musical Sounds" looking for some sounds for his music. He is a recycled version of Tug Monster from Little Muppet Monsters.
• Nellie Penguin (performed by Susan Beattie) - She appeared in "Hug a Bug" where Mopatop offered the viewer a pair of green wellies which actually belonged to Nellie Penguin. She is a recycled version of one of the members of Nicky Napoleon and his Emperor Penguins of Little Muppet Monsters.
• Nick and Rob - Nick and Rob are robbers who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Robbers in the Shop" where they steal from each other.
• Ollie and Sophie (performed by Brian Herring and Susan Beattie) - Two pigs who visited Mopatop's Shop in "Simply Sorry." Ollie is a recycled version of Snorty from Muppets Tonight.
• Omar the Owl (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Omar the Owl is engaged to Shula the Shark. He came into Mopatop's Shop in "Sea Tree House" to look for a house that would be suitable for them. Omar is a recycled version of the owl puppet that was used for Hillary the Owl and Timothy the Owl seen in Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Ozzie the Squid (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Ozzie the Squid who came into Mopatop's Show to look for a puddle in "Trouble with a Puddle." His puppet was originally created for Jim Henson's Animal Show, but was never used (yet it later appeared in the Dennis Quaid episode of Muppets Tonight).
• Pappy Popper - Pappy Popper came into Mopatop's Shop in "Pop Star" where he was looking for a new pop sound. He is a recycled version of Icky No-No from Muppet Time.
• Peggy Porcupine (performed by Susan Beattie) - Peggy came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Big Bicycle Race" to find out where Mansell Monkey is. She was recycled from a porcupine from Billy Bunny's Animal Songs and The Muppet Christmas Carol.
• Penguin-Leg Pete (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Penguin-Leg Pete is a dog pirate who has a penguin for a leg. He came into Mopatop's Shop in "Penguins, Pegs, and Pirates" where he wanted a different leg since his penguin leg keeps going into every water it sees and Penguin-Leg Pete can't swim. He is arecycled version of Black Dog from Muppet Treasure Island.
• Penny Pig (performed by Susan Beattie) - Penny Pig came into Mopatop's Shop in "Wind" looking for something to dry off her dress after she had fallen into a puddle.
• Phoebe the Fortune Teller (performed by Louise Gold) -
• Pickey Mickey (performed by Brian Herring) - Pickey Mickey is a bug who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Hug a Bug" looking for an icky mud pie. His design was similar to one of the Inkspots of Fraggle Rock, but has beady eyes and glasses replacing bulgy eyes.
• Pink Monster (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - The Pink Monster appeared at Mopatop's Shop in "You Are What You Are" where she wanted to be green and swapped colors with a Green Monster. Both of them weren't pleased so they were given spots of the colors they wanted. The Pink Monster is a recycled version of one of the Fazoobs from The Muppet Show.
• Pippa Pepper (performed by Susan Beattie) - Pippa Pepper came to Mopatop's Shop in "Teasy Sneezy" where she tried to help Teasy Sneezy sneeze with an "AH-CHOO". She is a recycled version of Begoony from Fraggle Rock.
• Princess (performed by Alison McGowan) - In "Moosey's Dream," Mopatop and Puppyduck use the Dream On Dream Finishing Machine on a flower where it was shown that this unnamed dog princess was going to choose it to put in its hair. She is a recycled version of the Afghan Hound from The Muppet Show.
• Princess Lulabelle (performed by Louise Gold) - Princess Lulabelle is a lusty princess who visitied Mopatop's Shop in her self-titled episode. She is a recycled version of Shakey Sanchez from The Muppet Show.
• Princess Mirilla (performed by Alison McGowan) - She was delivered to Mopatop's Shop in "Mr. Puniverse". Her design is very similar to one of the Whozits of The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, but her eyes are different and she has curly hair, a dress, and tiara.
• Princess Trudie (performed by Alison McGowan) - She came to Mopatop's Shop in "Cinderfella" looking for a prince to fit a nose ring to Cinderfella. Her design is very similar to one of the Whozits of The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, but her eyes are different and she has curly hair, a dress, and tiara.
• Professor Hugh Mungous (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Professor Hugh Mungous is an inventor who came into Mopatop's Shop in "The Bigulator" where he had invented the Bigulator and wanted to sell it to Mopatop. He is a redesigned version of Anthony from The Jim Henson Hour.
• Quickie Slowgo - Quicky Slowgo is a whiz kid who came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode where he is enlisted to mend Rockin' Rowena's Singa-Longa-Songbox in time for her Christmas party.
• Rabbit (performed by Brian Herring) - An unnamed rabbit that came into Mopatop's Shop in "Hop for the Shop" looking for a round thing to be a component for his trampoline. This puppet would later be used for Jack Rabbit in Kermit's Swamp Years.
• Raging Gale - Raging Gale came into Mopatop's Shop in "Stormy Gust" looking for rain.
• Rex the Rattlesnake (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Rex the Rattlesnake came into Mopatop's Shop in "No Job Too Small" to look for a new rattle. He is a recycled version of the rattlesnake puppet used for Victor the Rattlesnake and Kiki the Rattlesnake from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Rhino Explorer (performed by Susan Beattie) - An Indian rhinoceros who came into Mopatop's Shop in "Smart Trousers" to buy a pair of trousers that fit her. She is a recycled version of Harry the Rhinoceros of Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Rockin' Rowena - Rockin' Rowena came into Mopatop's Shop in "Quickie Slowgo" to get her Singa-Longa-Songbox fixed.
• Roley Moley (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - A mole who came looking for materials for a sign, a fence, and a garden in "This Way to the Garden." In "Goodbye," Roley Moley came into Mopatop's Shop to help give Larry Dinger a big goodbye for the final episode of "The Hello & Goodbye Show." She is a recycled version of Magda the Mole from Muppets Tonight.
• Royal Tailor - The Royal Tailor came into Mopatop's Shop in "Clothes Fit for a King" in order to find the right material to make the clothes for the king.
• Rude Dude (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Rude Dude is a mean customer who makes too much noise in his self-titled episode. He is a recycled version of Beastie from Fraggle Rock.
• Rudy Monster (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - Rudy Monster came into Mopatop's Shop in the episode "Hiccups" to look for hiccups. Rudy Monster is a recycled version of Mudwell the Mudbunny from Fraggle Rock.
• Scary Mary (performed by Louise Gold) - Scary Mary is a canary who appeared in "How Scary is That?" where Corky Stalky tried to buy a hat so he can scare her. She is a recycled version of a generic canary seen in The Muppet Show.
• Sea Monster (performed by Brian Herring) - In "Ship Ahoy," a Sea Monster was one of the items offered to Captain Woof. He is a recycled version of the Luncheon Counter Monster from The Muppet Show.
• Sebert the Sea Lion (performed by Brian Herring) - Sebert the Sea Lion came into Mopatop's Shop in "Penguins, Pegs, and Pirates" where he wanted to replace his wooden peg leg with a new pet that he can play with. He is a recycled version of Slick the Sea Lion from Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• See Me Not - He came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode to buy a See Me so that he could be visible.
• Shark (performed by Brian Herring) - An unnamed shark appeared in "Surprises" where he was tired and not exciting. He is a recycled version of the shark puppet use for a generic shark in The Muppet Show and Achilles the Shark in Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Shula the Shark (performed by Louise Gold) - Shula the Shark is engaged to Omar the Owl. She came into Mopatop's Shop in "Sea Tree House" to find a house that would be suitable for both of them. She is a recycled version of the shark puppet use for a generic shark in The Muppet Show and Achilles the Shark in Jim Henson's Animal Show.
• Silly Stephen - Silly Stephen came into Mopatop's Shop in his self-titled episode to look for a silly face.
• Simon the Snail - Simon the Snail appeared in "Flea Power" where he was one of the items that Mopatop offered to the viewer. In "Home Sweet Home," he comes into Mopatop's Shop to look for a new home. He is a recycled version of the snail puppet that appeared in The Tale of the Bunny Picnic.
• Singalotti (performed by Nigel Plaskitt) - An Italian opera singer who came into Mopatop's Shop in the episode "Singalotti" to find a partner to sing with him. • The Three Pigeons - The three pigeons appeared in "Three Sale" during the song "Three Is Best". While they were originally used in the Dennis Quaid episode of Muppets Tonight, one of them was later used as Waldo F. Sterling in an episode of The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss (because of his Dr. Seuss eyes).
