Michael Collins is an independent politician, and Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cork South-West constituency, elected at the 2016 general election, at his first attempt. He has stated his intention to co-operate in the 32nd Dáil with Danny Healy-Rae, a man who believes god is in control of the weather,[1] in the neighbouring Kerry constituency.[2]
He was a member of Cork County Council from the 2014 local election until his Dáil election.[3]
