Notes and meanings
Vinyla Sky is a combination of the phrases Vanilla Sky and vinyl record.
Spun is the past form for the verb "spinning". In music, spin is a single play of a song. It may also refer to Spun Records. It also has samples from the movie Spun.
Melodrama is a form of art made to increase emotional feelings. It is the title track.
Funky is a verb for the music genre and style funk.
Albert Balbert is a combination of Albert Hofmann and Balbert probably comes from the Hebrew slang word "Balbalot" (tripping). The line "He bicycled home and climbed into bed. His family was away at that time, so he had a lot of... fear that he perhaps damaged his mind by doing this. He lay in bed at one point, his consciousness was up on the ceiling looking down at what he took to be his dead body" is about Hofmann's famous bicycle ride. It has vocals by Albert Hofmann.
Rearranged samples a line from an old LSD documentary film, the same movie Infected Mushroom sampled with "Drop Out". The line is "But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things," said by Grace Slick, lead singer of Jefferson Airplane
Stringadelic is a combination of the phrases strings and psychedelic. The song's melody is, unlike most of the piano-influenced album, made by a band-pass electric guitar.
Frog N Roll is a combination of the phrases frog and rock and roll.
Bass Ratz does not mean "bass rats". Râtz is a Hebrew word meaning "running", so its meaning is "running bass" or "ongoing bass".
Adish is an Hebrew word meaning 'apathetic'. The song has a much slower rate than the other tracks in the album.
