McDermont Field House
McDermont Field House is a renovated sports facility that was originally an abandoned orange packinghouse called McDermont Fruit Co. Growers and Shippers. Located in Lindsay, California, it held its Grand Opening on June 21, 2008. The entire facility houses around 172,000 sq ft (16,000 m2). Small scale operations began in October 2007. Its mascot, Squeeze the Orange, occasionally comes by at a television screen near the entrance.
Upon completion McDermont Field House will have 2 NCAA sized basketball courts (running end to end), a 10,000 sq ft (930 m2). laser tag arena (in the basement), a 9,000 sq ft (840 m2). arcade, various concessions stations and restaurants, indoor FlowRider, indoor skate park, 50 ft (15 m). climbing wall, a regulation size indoor soccer field (complete with FieldTurf), LightSpace Dance Floor and more.
McDermont Field House is also equipped to host musical acts and concerts. As a venue, Mcdermont Field House will be able to support car shows, dances and other exhibitions.
Events
January 2008: McDermont began a men's basketball league that competed in 3 divisions. This event was Coordinated by Rene Hernandez.
April 16, 2008: The Fresno Fuego was present at McDermont to introduce futsal to the community and the surrounding area. This event was coordinated by Rene Hernandez.
April 19, 2008: Mark Wills performed a McDermont at the peak of the Orange Blossom Festival being held that weekend by the City of Lindsay. This event was coordinated by Chief Wilkinson.
June 28, 2008: Ramon Ayala performed at this venue. 2,000 people were in attendance that night.
March 20–23, 2009: McDermont Invitational Car and Bike Show. This event was coordinated by Rick Loftin.
May 30, 2009: "First Annual Christian Music Festival" All day event. 18 bands and guest speakers. This event was coordinated by Joseph Sosa.
February 27–28, 2010: It was the site of the Lindsay Centennial picnic.
April 13, 2010: Start of the 2010 Orange Blossom Festival.
August 17-18, 2012: McDermont Rented their facility to Unity 1 Ministries which held a lockin event for youth 10:30pm-6:30am, 100+ participated in this event youth pastors, leaders, chaprones, and youth with 2 performers Saving Temperance, Christ Like Souljahs, and the Message from Stefanie Gifford. This event was coordinated by Matthew Gifford
March 16th, 2013: McDermont was the center of the Valley when Larry Hernandez held an amazing concert this day. Thousands and thousands in attendance.
March 30th, 2013: McDermont held host to a Lindsay second EDM event. Dancers, DJs, and spectators from all over the valley came together to hear some fantastic music.
April 7th, 2013: The Lindsay City of Commerce brought together a Wedding/Quincenera Expo.
April 12th, 2013: Best of the Valley Quilt Show. Held every year at McDermont Field House, the BotV brought another extraordinary event to this facility.
