Born in Annapolis, Crawford County, Ill., September 28, 1867. Mayor of Terre Haute, Ind., 1913-15. Convicted of bribery in 1915 and spent three and a half years in prison; convicted of embezzlement in 1936 and sentenced to prison. Released from prison following a heart attack, and died a few days later, in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Ind., August 3, 1936. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Terre Haute, Ind.
