Matthew Ramsey is an American country music songwriter and the lead vocalist of the American country music band Old Dominion[1] with several hit songs on country radio to his credit.[2][3][4]
Early life
Matthew Ramsey grew up in Buchanan, VA. He learned to play the drums at a young age before picking up the guitar at age 14.[5][6] He received a degree in Illustration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Personal life
Matt resides in Nashville with his wife and two daughters.[7]
Career
Matt moved to Nashville in 2000 to pursue a career in songwriting, where he met Trevor Rosen and the two became members of the group Old Dominion.[8][9] Ramsey has had several hit songs including The Band Perry's "Chainsaw",[10] Craig Morgan's "Wake Up Loving You",[11] Dierks Bentley's "Say You Do",[12] Kenny Chesney's "Save It for a Rainy Day",[13][14] as well as songs by Sam Hunt and Luke Bryan. The band released its debut studio album, Meat and Candy, on November 6, 2015, with songs that reached the top ten on the country charts.[15]
