Marinobacter

Marinobacter is a genus of Proteobacteria found in sea water. A number of strains and species can degrade hydrocarbons.[3] The species involved in hydrocarbon degradation include M. alkaliphilus, M. arcticus, M. hydrocarbonoclasticus, M. maritimus & M. squalenivorans.[4]
