Marie Lubbock is a fictional character portrayed by Heather Langenkamp from the ABC sitcom Just the Ten of Us. Marie is the eldest, religious and conservative daughter in the Lubbock household. She made her debut appearance in the ABC sitcom Growing Pains episode "How the West Was One (Part 1)".[1][2]
Background
Marie is the eldest Lubbock child and is the most responsible. She is religious and conservative. After her father Graham Lubbock is fired from his job at a local school, he is offered a new job at St. Augustine's Academy. Marie moves alongside her family to Eureka, California.
Appearances
Marie made her debut in the ABC sitcom Growing Pains. She appears in the season three episodes "How the West Was One (Part 1)" and "How the West Was One (Part 2)" as the eldest daughter of Coach Lubbock. In these episodes, Coach Lubbock is fired and Mike and Boner protest. Marie subsequently appeared in the Growing Pains spin-off, Just the Ten of Us, in a supporting role in the earlier episodes. A conservative and religious girl, Marie is the most responsible of the Lubbock children.
In later episodes, the show focused more on the four older sisters and Marie had a more prominent role.[3] Marie eventually formed a singing group with her sisters Cindy, Wendy and Connie called "The Lubbock Babes" in an attempt to bring in some extra income for the family. Marie's relationship with her boyfriend Gavin Doosler became a focal point in later episodes. Throughout the course of the show Marie slowly became a little more care free.

In an interview with Chicago Tribune, Heather Langenkamp described Marie as a "regular teenage girl, a moralistic girl."[4]
