Malalbergo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Bologna in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) northeast of Bologna. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,911 and an area of 53.8 square kilometres (20.8 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Malalbergo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Altedo, Ponticelli, Pegola, and Casoni.
Malalbergo borders the following municipalities: Baricella, Bentivoglio, Galliera, Minerbio, Poggio Renatico, San Pietro in Casale.
