Maher bin Hamad Al Mueaqly (Arabic: الشيخ ماهر بن حمد المعيقلي) born January 7, 1969, is the Imam of the Grand Masjid[1] in Makkah.
Maher's family is from Yanbu, which is where is father Hamad hails from. His father belonged to the Al-Mueaqly clan of the Balwa tribe. His mother, Sa'imah bint Mahmud al-Sisi is from a Hijazi tribe from Madinah. Some claim that his mother was an immigrant from Pakistan; however, this is false information as stated by Maher's brother. By the name of mijanul
Maher has 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. In 2014, Al Mueaqly visited Kyrgyzstan from May 14-16 as a guest of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.[2]
