Mahakavi Kalidas (English: The great poet Kalidas) is a 1966 Indian Tamil language film produced and directed by R. R. Chandran, starring Sivaji Ganesan in the lead role. The movie is based on the legends of the poet Kalidas. It was a remake of Kannada movie Mahakavi Kalidasa made in 1955. The lyrics are composed by famous poet Kannadasan
