Madhura Sreedhar Reddy (Telugu: మధుర శ్రీధర్ రెడ్డి) is a software engineer turned Director, Producer and Distributer. He started his film career by establishing music label Madhura Audio and eventually turned as a director with youthful film Sneha Geetham in 2010 and gained critical acclaim.[1] He also received Best Debut Director for Sneha Geetham . His second directional venture It's My Love Story did well at the box office.[2] He continued his success by directing Backbench Student, and producing contemporary thrillers like Maaya and Ladies & Gentlemen. His recent production is OKA MANASU, in which he introduced Niharika, as heroine who is a niece of Telugu Mega Star Chiranjeevi.

He owns popular movie Production Company Madhura Entertainment and music label Madhura Audio, the second largest music label in Telugu Film Industry. Recently he distributed super hit Telugu movie #Pelli Choopulu along with D. Suresh Babu of Suresh Productions. Presently he is working on biopic of Telangana CM and leader KCR (Kalvakunlta Chandrashekar Rao). He is going to direct this biopic and popular producer Raj Kandukuri will produce the movie.

Background

Madhura Sreedhar Reddy was born and raised in Warangal. He is a B.Tech graduate from Regional Engineering College (REC, currently called as NIT Warangal). He completed his MS (Research) from IIT Madras and received Gold Medal for his excellency by Vice President of India.[3] He worked in many multinational companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra.

Career

After gaining critical and commercial acclaim with Sneha Geetham, Madhura Sreedhar directed It’s My Love Story and Backbench Student. In an effort to encourage novel concepts in Telugu, Sreedhar turned as producer for Maaya which is directed by National Award winner Neelakanta. Maaya is based on the concept of Extrasensory Perception, which is new to Telugu movie audience. Everyone praised Maaya stating it as ‘Out of the box’ movie. Maaya is going to be remade as Murder 4 by ace Bollywood producer and director Mahesh Bhatt.

Madhura Sreedhar introduced his associate PB Manjunath as director with critically and commercially acclaimed movie Ladies & Gentlemen, which is based on the effects of cyber-crimes on netizens. It turned out as a first best small concept based movie in the year 2015 and critics highly praised Ladies & Gentlemen. Times of India rated it with 3 and mentioned Spectacular in its approach. Hindu and Deccan Chronicle also gave 3 rating. Major Telugu film websites like Idlebrain and Greatandhra gave 3+ ratings. Ace Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt appreciated it by saying "Bold and hard hitting."

Madhura Sreedhar Reddy produced beautiful love story Oka Manasu movie under Madhura Entertainment banner with the collaboration of TV 9, number one news channel of Telugu states and it is directed by G. Rama Raju, who debuted with critically acclaimed Mallela Theeram movie. Naga Shourya and mega princess Niharika Konidela, who is the niece of Telugu Mega Star Chiranjeevi played the lead roles.[4] Madhura Sreedhar's next project is with legendary Telugu director Vamsy, which is titled as Fashion Designer s/o Ladies Tailor, and it is currently in shooting stage. It is a sequel to 1985 comedy movie Ladies Tailor starring Sumanth Ashwin, Anisha Ambrose, Eesha, Manasa Himavarsha in the lead roles and it is also directed by Vamsy. After this project, Madhura Sreedhar Reddy lined up three more projects under his production. ‘A’ for America, a contemporary comedy tale on youth aspirations for going abroad. To be directed by a debutant Sujai. Next is ‘Priyuraalu’, an intense love story to be directed by G. Rama Raju, who earlier directed Oka Manasu and Mallela Theeram. Sreedhar is producing another movie tentatively titled as Santhana Prapthirasthu to be directed by his protégé Sanjeev Reddy, who gave story for Sreedhar's previous production Ladies & Gentlemen.

Madhura Sreedhar Reddy is well known for introducing many talented actors like Niharika Konidela, Sundeep Kishan, Chaitanya Krishna, Venky Atluri, (now he is debuting as director with a movie, Varun Tej is playing the lead role) Aravind Krishna, Nikitha Narayan, Mahat Raghavendra, Avantika Mishra, Sushma Raaj… etc. for Telugu Film Industry.[5] He is also considered as Marketing Guru for his innovative film marketing strategies and movie promotions. Fascinated by controversies in IPL Cricket, Match Fixing and after parties, Madhura Sreedhar Reddy commissioned a script work for tentatively titled I'm Not Sachin. Apart from these films, Madhura Sreedhar Reddy is planning to produce Love, Sex & Murder in 2018.

Few called him a separate state visionary. Few called him a regional fanatic who created a wedge between Telugu people. Few called him a dictator in a democratic system. Others called him a protector of democracy with dictatorial approach. Few called him a fighting force, few called him a hasty man. Few called him a political genius. But for the 4 crore Telangana people, he was the charioteer with a goal… a great leader who made their dreams come true.

It didn’t matter as to who said what and who thought what, he simply went ahead with his movement. This is the history we witnessed and we are now witnessing the present. The moment three letters KCR became the address for Telangana movement, the entire nation began seeing a positive side in people’s movement.

Madhura Sreedhar said, “After listening to the tales narrated by my father who was part of the Telangana agitation in 1969 and watching the incidents of current time, the director in me gave sleepless nights. I did some research in this angle and met the Telangana and Samaikyandhra activists separately. I had Goosebumps when I heard the way the likes of NTR, Chandrababu Naidu, YSR, Sonia Gandhi, Chiranjeevi, Lagadapati Rajagopal, Venkaiah Naidu, L K Advani and Pawan Kalyan understood the Telangana agitation. I discovered that the kind of challenges KCR faced were on par with what Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King faced during their movements. As a filmmaker, I decided to bring this history onscreen. The shooting will commence on June 2nd, 2017 the Telangana formation day and the film will release on February 17th, 2018 on the eve of KCR’s birthday. The film will be produced by Raj Kandukuri on his home banner Dharmapada Creations.”
