Machimia metagypsa is a moth in the Depressariidae family. It was described by Turner in 1946.[1] It is found in Australia, where it has been recorded from Western Australia.[2]

The wingspan is about 22 mm. The forewings are pale grey with pale fuscous markings. The first discal spot is found at one-third and the plical spot beyond it. The second discal spot is found before two-thirds and there is some fuscous sprinkling between the second discal spot and the tornus. The hindwings are white.[3]
