2016

In 2016, the BSC teams had average regional 7.00 seeding, finishing 3.00, better by 4.00, and in 2015, they had average 4.00 seeding, finishing 1.50, better by 2.50. The clearest pattern is that the BSC has overperformed slightly, on average over the 3 seasons. The CC has underperformed slightly the previous 3.

Underperformance and overperformance may not mean much, anyway. Any group of teams that are seeded very high have little room to go anywhere other than down. Those seeded very low, anywhere other than up. However, over a longer period of time, the better teams will win more. In 2016, the Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference with one team in the MIAA Super Eight, Pope Francis, underperformed all other conferences. With a small enough sample, things can become very skewed.

BSC: Had 2 teams. Braintree won back-to-back. Newton North finished 1–2.

CC: Had 3 teams. St. John's Prep finished runner-up for its second straight year.

PL: Had 1 team. Plymouth North became the first Division II team to be selected, but disappointingly went 0–2.

PVIAC: Had 1 team. Pope Francis became the first team from the West section of the state to be selected.

2015

In the CWS, 4 of the top 8 seeds made the CWS. None played in the Championship Series.

BSC: Had 2 teams. One returned to championship game, which it won, other went 0–2.

CC: Had 3 teams. Had two of final three teams.

2014

First edition of Super Eight Baseball Tournament

BSC: Had 2 teams. Both advanced to the Finals.

CC: Had 2 teams. Neither advanced past Loser's bracket second round.
