List of songs recorded by Kylie Minogue
Australian singer and songwriter Kylie Minogue has recorded material for thirteen studio albums and eight extended plays (EP), and has been featured on songs on other artists' respective albums. Minogue has also recorded extra content for some of her eleven compilation albums and eleven remix albums. Minogue's musical career began due to her role in Neighbours, an Australian soap opera. After a performance with the cast of the show, she signed to Mushroom Records in 1987. That same year, she released a cover of the Little Eva song "Locomotion". It spent seven weeks on top of the ARIA Singles Chart and became the highest-selling single of the 1980s in Australia.[1] Her debut album, Kylie, was released in 1988, and produced the singles "I Should Be So Lucky", "Got to Be Certain", "The Loco-Motion" and "Je ne sais pas pourquoi". It was also the first album in collaboration with long-time partners Stock Aitken Waterman, who produced nearly all of Minogue's first four albums.
In 1992, Minogue released the compilation album Greatest Hits. The album included three original songs, "What Kind of Fool (Heard All That Before)", "Where in the World?" and a cover of the Kool & the Gang song "Celebration". The album was certified platinum in Australia and the United Kingdom.[2][3] Minogue's fifth album, Kylie Minogue, was her first album that didn't include any production by Stock Aitken Waterman. The album included the singles "Confide in Me", "Put Yourself in My Place" and "Where Is the Feeling?". Minogue's sixth album Impossible Princess demonstrated a drastic change in her musical style, and incorporated elements of electronica, trip hop and techno. Minogue's seventh album, Light Years also showed a change to dance-pop music.
Minogue's eighth album, Fever was promoted by its lead single "Can't Get You Out of My Head". It topped the charts in Australia, New Zealand, UK, and most of Europe. Another single, "Come into My World", gave Minogue her first Grammy Award in 2004 (for Best Dance Recording). In 2003, the single "Slow", from Body Language, became another number-one single in the UK. In 2004, she released another greatest hits package named Ultimate Kylie. The single "I Believe in You" reached the top five in the UK. Her ninth and tenth albums, Body Language and X, mostly continued her dance-pop style of music, incorporating other elements of electropop and disco. Minogue's eleventh album, Aphrodite, produced the moderately successful singles "All the Lovers" and "Get Outta My Way", and featured production by Calvin Harris.
Minogue's eleventh album Kiss Me Once was the first of her short contract with Roc Nation. The album featured executive production and songwriting from Sia, and produced the singles "Into the Blue" and "I Was Gonna Cancel". The latter was produced by American producer Pharrell Williams. In 2015, Minogue released her first Christmas album, entitled Kylie Christmas. The album featured vocals by Frank Sinatra, Iggy Pop, James Corden and her sister Dannii Minogue. Producers Stock Aitken Waterman reunited for a remix of the single "100 Degrees". In 2016, Minogue contributed a cover of "This Wheel's on Fire" for the soundtrack of Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie.
