This page contains a list of Presidents of Mauritius from 1992, when a republic was proclaimed. Under the 1992 Constitution, the constitution of the Republic of Mauritius, the President replaced the Queen as ceremonial head of state. The President is elected by the National Assembly for a five-year term. In the event of a vacancy the Vice President serves as Acting President.[1][2][3]
