List of Gurjars
Gurjar are an ethnic group in India, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Alternative spellings include Gurjara, Gujar, Gurjjar and Gujjar.
The following is a partial list of notable Gurjars.
- Kirori Singh Bainsla, is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Indian Army and was the leader of an Indian caste protest movement
- Rukhsana Kausar, (born 1989), woman who received the National Bravery Award (the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak) for killing a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant at her home.[1]
- Vallabhbhai Patel, (1875–1950) barrister, statesman, one of the leaders of the Indian National Congress and one of the founding fathers of the Republic of India
- Rajesh Pilot, (1945–2000), politician and Government minister for the Indian National Congress party and represented the Dausa in Lok Sabha. His original name was Rajesh Bidhuri.
- Rao Kadam Singh, the Gurjar fight against the British during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.[2]
