Lake Macquarie City FC is a football club in Lake Macquarie, New South Wales. The club was formed in 1912 formed by a group of Scottish miners in the area.
History
Lake Macquarie City Football Club is one of the oldest running football clubs in the Northern NSW region. The club has a strong history and reputation of developing, fostering and producing local players.
Recent Seasons
2014 Season
In 2014, Lake Macquarie City FC played in the NPL Northern NSW. They finished last in the league and were relegated to Northern NSW State League Division 1 for 2015.
2015 Season
The club will be captained by Tom Walker and coached by Barry Ross in the upcoming NewFm season. The under 15s Roosters will have the privilege in the 2015 season to head over to Malaysia to compete in the Borneo Cup. The Borneo cup is an international competition held on the island of Borneo with teams from all over Asia competing for the trophy.
2016 Season:
In 2016, Lake Macquarie City played in the NNSW NEWFM First Division Northern NSW NEWFM First Division. After a successful season, the team came 1st and were promoted back to the NNSW NPL after a 2-year absence.
2017 Season
In 2017, the club will return to the NPL and hope to consolidate themselves as an NPL club. In their first round fixture, they will play away to the Weston Bears.
