La Garriga is a municipality in the province of Barcelona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The municipality covers an area of 18.8 square kilometres (7.3 sq mi) and as of 2011 had a population of 15236 people.[3]
Notable natives and residents
- The Catalan writer and teacher, Núria Albó, was mayor here in 1979 and she was born here in 1930.[4]
- The Catalan missionary priest in Cameroon Jordi Mas Castells was born here in 1930 and he died here in 2010.[5] In 2008, the town council in La Garriga honoured him as Illustrious Citizen.[6]
