L-3 Aviation Recorders

L-3 Aviation Recorders, part of L-3 Communications Holdings, is a Sarasota, Florida based manufacturer of flight data recorders, often referred to as black boxes. It makes more than 2/3 of the recorders and 4/5 of the marine recorders used worldwide.[1] The boxes are orange to aid with recovery.[1]
