Kuntighat is a ghat on the river Kunti. Here three rivers meets Kunti, Behula and the Ganga. It is the third railway station from Bandel going towards Katwa on the Bandel Katwa section of the Eastern Railway. In Kuntighat there is the Birla Radha Krishna Mandir, a wooden bridge (without any support like the howrah bridge) made in the Nawab Siraj-Ud-Daullah era. Kuntighat is home to Kesoram Rayon Ltd and also ITC PSPD Ltd. It is an ethnically mixed community under the jurisdiction of Chandrahati 1 and Chandrahati 2 gram panchayat under the Chinsurah-Mogra Block Development Office. Kuntighat is under Mogra Police Station. For visiting Kuntighat, you can come from Bandel station in the UP direction or from Katwa in the DOWN direction. Direct bus service is available to Chinsurah and to Jirat. Although Bandel-Katwa trains are after almost 1 hour but transportation facilities on road are readily available. You should visit this place at least once for its greenery and calm atmosphere.
