Kshetra Pratap Adhikary (Nepali: क्षेत्रप्रताप अधिकारी; 1943 (March/April) – April 14, 2014) was a Nepali poet, writer and lyricist .[2] Adhikari is best known as the lyricist of the song Ma Ta Laligurans Bhayechu by Narayan Gopal. Renowned singers of both the past and present generations, including Narayan Gopal, Bacchu Kailash, Ram Krishna Dhakal, Yogeshwar Amatya, Satya Raj Acharya, Kunti Moktan and Swaroop Raj Acharya have lent their voices to Adhikari's songs.[3] Some of his popular publications are Rahar Lagera, Pahad Dekhi Pahad Samma, Feri Euta Pariwartan, Tara Desh Rahirahecha etc.
Early life
Kshetra Pratap Adhikary was born on 1943 (March/April) in Jyamruk Bayapani, Mirlung-4, Tanahun, Nepal. He was the youngest son born to Gajkeshar Adhikary and Janak Kumari Adhikary. He is survived by two sons, Ajar Adhikary and Aman Adhikary.
Education
He joined a night school and worked as a bus conductor during the day. After his school, he used to spend hours reading under the street lampposts near British and Indian embassies.
Death
Kshetra Pratap Adhikary died on April 14, 2014 at Sahid Gangalal Heart Center, Kathmandu after the heart attack. Adhikari had announced to donate his body to Dharan-based B. P. Koirala Institute of Health and Sciences after his death.[4]
