Knud Pontoppidan

Knud Pontoppidan (1853–1916) was a Danish psychiatrist and coroner.[1] He was the brother of writer and Nobel Prize Laureate Henrik Pontoppidan. He was involved in a notable conflict with writer and feminist Amalie Skram in 1895, which received considerable press coverage and had influence on the subsequent treatment of psychiatric patients in Denmark.[2][3]

In 1891, he published the first article in Danish on homosexuality.[4]
