Kiran Choudhry (born 5 June 1955) is an Indian National Congress politician. She is a MLA from Tosham Vidhan Sabha constituency and leader of the Congress legislative Party in the Haryana Assembly.
Early life
Kiran Choudry was born in New Delhi on 5 June 1955. Her father was a war veteran Brigadier Atma Singh from Kumaon Regiment of Indian Army. She was elected Deputy Speaker of the House unopposed. She held the post until the end of the term of the Assembly in 2003. But two years later she was struck by the tragic death of her husband, the late Surender Singh, in a helicopter crash. The late Minister’s constituents in Tosham, near Bhiwani, demanded that someone from the illustrious family should take over the reins of the constituency in the wake of loss of the 59-year-old son of the former Chief Minister.[2][3]
