King of Hockey is a 1936 American drama film directed by Noel M. Smith and written by George Bricker. The film stars Dick Purcell, Anne Nagel, Marie Wilson, Wayne Morris, George E. Stone and Joseph Crehan.[1] The film was released by Warner Bros. on December 19, 1936.[2][3]
Plot
College hockey hero Gabby Dugan turns professional, and he and new teammate Jumbo Mullins become acquainted with the O'Rourke sisters, Kathleen and Peggy, who bring their family to a game.
Jumbo mistakenly believes gambler Nick Torga has bribed Gabby to deliberately lose a game. A fistfight results in Gabby's going blind. He sets out on his own until Kathleen persuades him to return and have an operation to restore his sight.
