Biography
Mullen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Ohio State University in international studies, psychology, and political science.[1] During college, Mullen was a member of Delta Delta Delta and fashion model working in such places as Miami, New York City, Atlanta and Europe. Following graduation, Mullen furthered her studies at Wright State University while working as a government contractor for H.J. Ford/Department of Defense before moving to LA and NYC. She earned her master's degree from NYU.
Pageantry
Mullen won the Miss Ohio USA 2002 title and Miss Photogenic award when she competed in the Miss Ohio USA pageant as Miss Dublin USA in the Miss Ohio USA 2002 pageant held on November 18, 2001.
Mullen went on to represent Ohio in the Miss USA 2002 pageant broadcast live from Gary, Indiana in March 2002 in the nationally televised pageant.
Survivor
Mullen competed on Survivor: Palau, as a member of the ill-fated Ulong tribe.[2] At first, she did not have any trouble in the game, being the star in the first challenge. Later, the lack of food and water brought about weakness and some of her tribe members accused her of being lazy.[3] She received a stay of execution on two counts when Ashlee Ashby and Jeff Wilson left. Although the tribe managed to rebound from a considerable deficit, they still lost. Mullen was voted out.[4] Mullen's fellow Palau castmate Janu Tornell had also previously competed at Miss USA, having held the title Miss Nevada USA 1989.
