Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa (born 23 October 1989) is a Bahraini military officer and a member of the Bahraini royal family, Al Khalifa.
Early life and education
Khalid bin Hamad was born on 23 September 1989. He is the fifth son of Bahraini ruler, King Hamad.[1] His mother is the second wife of King Hamad, Sheikha Sheia bint Hasan Al Khrayyesh Al Ajmi, and he is full-brother of Nasser bin Hamad.[2][3]
He attended Ibn Khuldoon National School and then, graduated from Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in August 2008.[1]
Career
Khalid bin Hamad is a military officer with the rank of first lieutenant and commands Royal Guard's Rapid Intervention Force.[4] He is the president of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation[5] and first deputy chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.[6]
Personal life
Khalid bin Hamad married Sahab bint Abdullah Al Saud (born 14 February 1993), daughter of Saudi Arabia's late ruler King Abdullah, on 6 June 2011 in Riyadh.[2][7] They have two sons: Faisal (born 12 December 2012) and Abdullah (born 6 February 2015).[8] Sahab and Khalid named their second son after Sahab's father - the late King Abdullah.[2]
