The Junior Wantok Cup is the children's edition of the Wantok Cup. Its inaugural edition was due to be hosted in Honiara on September 21, 2008. The competition was to include a single match, involving football teams consisting in players aged under 14: one from the Solomon Islands (host country) and one from Papua New Guinea.[1][2]

However, the official inaugural Junior Wantok Cup eventually took place in January 2010, hosted by Vanuatu. All players were aged under 15. Five teams took part: a national team from the Solomon Islands; a national team from New Caledonia, and three teams from the host country: "Vanuatu South Islands", "Vanuatu North Islands" and "Vanuatu Olympic". The Solomon Islands defeated Vanuatu South by four goals to one in the final.[3][4] [5]
