Juan de Fustes (1500s-1573) was a Spanish nobleman, conquistador and explorer. He had arrived at the Río de la Plata in the army of Sebastián Caboto.[2]

Biography

Juan de Fustes was born in Spain, in 1558 he participated in expeditions in the Pilcomayo River.[3] Fustes had been held captive by the Indians during an expedition to Brazil.[4] He had been captive by the tribe Agaces for 10 years, then he joined as a neighbor of Asunción.[5]
