José María Bonilla

José María Bonilla (1889–1957) was a writer, artist and pedagogue Guatemalan. Best known for his didactics works and modifications made to the Guatemala anthem in 1934

Biography

His parents were Adelaida Ruano Marroquin and Jose Maria Bonilla Carrillo. His first studies were in his native Jalapa. Before turning seventeen years old, he won the title of Normalista Professor at the Central Normal School of Teachers, and immediately after graduated of Bachelor Science and Letters in the Central National Institute for Boys.
