John M. Sapien (born June 4, 1970 in Albuquerque, New Mexico)[1][2] is a Democratic member of the New Mexico Senate, serving since 2009.

In addition to working in the New Mexico Senate, Sapien is also a State Farm agent. Sapien interned for Senator Jeff Bingaman.[3] He is also the former head of the Bernalillo Public Schools Foundation. Sapien's father, Bill, served as a Sandoval County Commissioner.[4]

Sapien graduated Bernalillo High School in 1988, then from the University of New Mexico in 1992 with a B.B.A. degree in finance.[5]
