John Cuff (optician)
John Cuff (1708-1772) was an English scientific instrument maker.
One of the most important English makers of scientific instruments (particularly optical instruments) of the 18th century. Perfected the compound microscope with side-pillar, producing an instrument that later bore his name and marked a decisive stage in the history of the microscope.
