Jeff Clarke (born July 1961 in Ithaca, New York) is an American businessman. Currently he is the CEO of Kodak, and a member of the Autodesk board of directors.[1][2]

Biography

Education

Clarke earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1983[3] and a master's degree in business administration from Northeastern University in 1985.[4]

Career

Clarke was hired by Digital Equipment Corporation in 1985, and came to Compaq when it purchased DEC in 1998. Compaq appointed him as chief financial officer in March 2001.[5] He was executive vice president of global operations for HP, where he was responsible for HP’s worldwide supply chain, manufacturing, procurement and Internet operations. He also co-led the US$19 billion merger integration of HP and Compaq.

Clarke was named chief operating officer for CA (formerly Computer Associates) in April 2004 to stabilize operations amidst a probe by the SEC.[6] At CA he was responsible for sales, services, distribution, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, information technology, corporate strategy and planning.

Clarke was promoted to chief executive officer and president of Cendant's travel distribution services in April 2006.[7] Clarke next served as the Chairman of Travelport, Inc., a private, travel technology firm, where he served as CEO from 2006 to 2011, after leading its sale from Cendant Corporation to the Blackstone Group for US$4.3 billion in 2006.[8]

As Travelport CEO, he reorganized the company around three brands, engineered the acquisition of Worldspan and coordinated the sale of Orbitz Worldwide in an initial public offering on July 20, 2007.[9][10]

On March 12, 2014, he was named the new CEO and member of the Board of Directors of Kodak.[11] [12]

Boards and honors

Clarke was formerly a member of the Red Hat board of directors.[13] He served as a director for Compuware Corporation, an enterprise software company, from 2013 to 2014.[14][15] In March 2016, Clarke joined the board of directors at Autodesk, a multinational software corporation.[16] Clarke was chairman of the board of Orbitz Worldwide from 2007-2014.[17][18][19]

Clarke has also served on the Geneseo Foundation Board of Directors, where he delivered the address for the college’s 145th undergraduate commencement.[20]

Clarke is a member of the Board of Trustees of Northeastern University.[21]

In January 2007, Business Travel News named Clarke one of the 25 most influential executives for 2006.[22] Clarke has addressed such issues as the carbon footprint of the travel industry.[23]
