Janina Broniewska
Janina Broniewska née Kunig (August 5, 1904 – February 17, 1981) was a Polish writer, author of many stories for children and young adults, a publicist and a teacher. She was a Communist activist and propaganda writer.
Broniewska was born in Kalisz. Between 1934 and 1937 she was the editor of the magazine Płomyk. Following the Soviet invasion of Poland she collaborated as the hack writer for the Soviet Sztandar Wolności out of Minsk. Between 1944 and 1946 she worked as editor for Polska Zbrojna ("Armed Poland") paper for the regular army. She was the first wife of Władysław Broniewski, who left her for Maria Zarębińska. She died, aged 76, in Warsaw.
