Jānis Šmēdiņš (born 31 July 1987) is a Latvian beach volleyball player. From 2008 to 2012 he played together with Mārtiņš Pļaviņš. They won bronze medal at European Championships 2010. Two years later they won bronze medal in 2012 Olympic Games in London. As of 2012 playing with Aleksandrs Samoilovs and the duo is among world leaders before 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.[1][2][3]
