Huang Xing's Former Residence

Huang Xing's Former Residence (simplified Chinese: 黄兴故居; traditional Chinese: 黃興故居; pinyin: Huáng Xīng Gùjū) is the house where Chinese statesman and military leader Huang Xing (1874–1916) was born. It is now an important cultural site.

Built in the late Qing Dynasty, it is located in Yangtuo Village, Huangxing Town, Changsha County, Changsha City, Hunan Province, People's Republic of China.[1] It has a building area of about 2 mu, embodies buildings such as the old houses.

History

In 1864, in the third year of the age of the Tongzhi Emperor, it was built by Huang Xing's family. Huang Xing was born in here on 25 October 1894. In 1903, Huang Xing sold it.

In 1981, it was listed as one of Hunan Province's most important culture and relics site (省级重点文物保护单位). The People's Government of Changsha County rebuilt it and it was opened to the public.

In 1988, it was listed as one of China's most important culture and relics site (全国重点文物保护单位) by the State Council of China.
