Heinz Murr (3 July 1919 – 7 August 1998) was a Hauptsturmführer (Captain) in the Waffen-SS during World War II who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, which was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II.
Heinz Murr was born on the 3 July 1919, in Stargard Pomerania. During World War II he was awarded the Knight's Cross on the 21 September 1944, while in command of the III.Battalion, 9th SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment Germania, 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking.
He survived the war and died in Hanover on the 7 August 1998.
