Range | Western Ghats |
The Goa Gap is one of the major passes in India's Western Ghats mountain range, between the Maharashtra and Karnataka sections of the range. There is an argument that this is indeed a 'Knowledge Gap' as this area was missed to be mapped by British Surveyors. The fact that this region was under Portuguese colonial power, combined with sparse efforts after independence (of India) created this gap in mapped Western Ghats area.
