Glenbrook, Greater Manchester
Glenbrook is a small housing estate in Higher Blackley originally a tiny settlement on the banks of the River Irk near a stream feeding into it from the hillside. Glenbrook is situated geographically near the Glenbracken woodland area now subsumed within the Heaton Park Golf Course.
Nearby is a large woodland area called Blackley Forest which is part of a belt of green areas stretching from the centre of Manchester out through the suburbs and beyond.
