- Ganges (1798 ship), of 243 or 280 tons (bm) was a French ship launched at Philadelphia in 1798. The British captured her in 1803. Between 1804 and 1805 she made a whaling voyage to Isle of Desolation; during a second voyage the French captured her on either 19 December 1805 or 11 March 1806 (records differ). She was either sunk, or released and continued to operate until 1814.
